The St. Francis Pet Resort and Rehabilitation Center is a luxury "Vacation Destination" for pets. Our philosophy for boarding your furry, feathered or scaled companions is that of providing and environment and experience as close to home as possible. With five outdoor excursions per day for dogs, and six-foot tall condominiums "with a view" for cats, our goal is to pamper your pets the way you do, providing for their needs 24 hours a day. After all, you go on vacation, why shouldn’t they?

Canine Accommodations

Canine guests can choose from our roomy Deluxe Suites, Presidential Suites, or traditional runs. The Suites range in size from 6'x8' to 8'x10' rooms, each nicely appointed with:

  • comfortable beds

  • coordinated fleece throws

  • area rugs

  • ceiling fans

  • individual televisions

  • automatic waterers

  • artwork and wall hangings

Each Suite boasts a windowed door to the outside and a tempered glass door to the interior corridor, providing a truly cage-free environment.

Four decorating themes are used, including Americana Suites, Island Suites, Garden Suites and the Lodge Suites. Internet access to visualize your pet while boarding is available in select Suites.

Each set of Suites shares a play yard for exercise and elimination. Awnings ensure that no pet need to be "out in the weather" to enjoy a bit of fresh air!

The traditional runs are 3' wide by 6' long, with automatic waterers and platform beds. Although not as luxurious as the Suites each pet receives the same care as those dogs in the larger accommodations.

Additional spa services available to further pamper our guests include "Yappy Hour", "Nature Walks" and daily toothbrushing.

Feline Accommodations

Feline guests will be treated to our deluxe "Raintree Condominiums". Each Condo measures a full 6 feet tall, and a window with an outdoor view.

Multiple perches and platforms assure that each cat will find its comfort zone, and the private litter box area is fitted with a special ventilation system to keep each condo fresh and pleasant. The tempered glass doors provide a cage-free environment, and "Feliway" pheromone aromatherapy has been proven to reduce stress.

Daily play-time is part of each guest’s experience, but additional play-time and brush-outs are available with the "Pet-N-Purr" option. Twenty-four hour staffing ensures that your cats receive the very best care.

Exotics

An entire section of one Suite ward is devoted to housing exotic pets. We have plenty of room for your exotic pet in his or her own cage or aquarium in an area away from drafts and too much activity.

Veterinary Care

Veterinary Care is available at all times for emergencies or unexpected medical problems.

A Pet Warranty is added to each boarding account at a nominal fee and provides coverage for any unforeseen medical problem that may arise during your pet’s boarding stay.

Grooming

Full in-house grooming is available, and our "Resort Superbath" includes a pedicure, ear washing, hypoallergenic or medicated shampoo, brush-out and blow-dry. Our massaging "Bathing Beauty" shampoo system feels great! We also have a professional grooming shop at the Resort, providing traditional dog grooming and clipping.

Training

Dog training is available in our large room upstairs. Evening and weekend group classes are planned with a reputable, caring and effective trainer. Individual training is also available.

Puppy socialization classes are planned to start Fall of 2005, with the veterinary staff at the adjoining Godspeed Animal Care.

Doggie "Playcare"

If you have an energetic dog at home that just seems to need more exercise and playtime than you can give, then doggie "Playcare" is for you!

An initial "interview" ensures that your dog plays well with others. Then, drop-off is at 7:00 AM to play for the day with a group of canine friends. Our indoor and outdoor play areas are utilized for morning and afternoon sessions. A snack is followed by nap time in quiet, roomy runs dedicated to the "playcare" group before the afternoon sessions.

"Playcare" prices are set for individual day sessions or at a discounted rate for multiple day passes. Why come home tired to an energetic pup? Let them have a ball with their friends at St. Francis!

Rehabilitation

Gone are the days when the care for a painful joint was limited to cage rest. Just as in human medicine, therapy to regain full use and mobility of a joint is important. If your pet has had an injury, joint surgery, or suffers from arthritis, the power of rehabilitation therapy may be tremendously helpful.

Our underwater treadmill allows for pets to exercise while supporting up to 50% less weight, building stamina and cardiovascular strength while improving mobility and muscle mass.

Therapeutic ultrasound, electrical muscle stimulation, heat and cold therapies and acupuncture can all play a role in your pet’s return to soundness. These services are available by appointment Monday through Friday except on Holidays.
